The Class Officer Collective

Celebrating Unique Class Year Experiences and Campus Traditions

Homecoming Kickoff

During Homecoming Week, the Class Officer Collective hosts the annual Homecoming Kickoff at Freiberger Field. This Case Western tradition allows the first-year and second-year officers to form class teams, which will then compete in a game of pushball. Pushball is a highly intensive game where each team tries to push a gigantic ball into the opposing team’s goal, which is worth one point. The team that has the most points at the end of the game is then crowned the winner. The third-year and fourth-year officers also form class teams for Homecoming Kickoff. Instead of pushball, these students compete in a game of flag football. The goal of each team is to score a touchdown in the in-zone without having a flag stolen off the running player. Similarly, the team that has the most points at the end of the game is the winner. Since Homecoming Kickoff is an undergraduate event, all students are encouraged to watch their teams as they fight to win the champion title. Besides the entertainment from watching classmates, students will also be entertained by music, tattoos, homecoming giveaways, and a chalkboard. We also provide food from various restaurants, which is always a plus!

As the Class Officers, we hope to create a positive start to Homecoming Week through Homecoming Kickoff! We also hope to establish unity and pride within the classes.
